Hello, I’m Joris. I’m the editor for spatial planning and urban design for Hochparterre magazine. I live and work in Zurich.
My studies of history and geography and my employments in urban design, spatial planning, and real estate practices have laid the foundation for my photography and writing. I am interested not only in the beauty of warm sunlight on historical patina, but also the absurd contrasts created by conflicting planning laws in our sprawling cities. I search for human traces both in seemingly arcadian landscapes and inhumane concrete jungles.
At Hochparterre, I write about spatial planning and urban design, especially social and ecological sustainability and feminism.
